James Lee "Jimmy" Martin

Mr. James Lee "Jimmy" Martin age 23 of 337 Atkins Lane, Mt. Airy passed away Friday, April 13, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born March 5, 1984 in Surry County, NC to James Carroll Martin and Donna Miller Martin. Mr. Martin was as assistant wrestling coach at Surry Central High School. He was employed by Nick's Plumbing and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are his mother, Donna Martin, Mt. Airy, his father, James Carroll Martin, Mt. Airy, two brothers, Jed Martin and Zachary Martin both of Mt. Airy, grandmothers, Joyce Miller and Carol Smith both of Mt. Airy, three aunts, five uncles and several cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Welcome Valley Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Marty Reece and Rev. Junior Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends7-9 PM Tuesday night at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Surry Central High School Boosters Club Wrestling Fund, Dobson, NC 27017.
