Mr. James Ardeen Mosley, 77, of 813 Haystack Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, October 17, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Mosley was born March 21, 1933, in Surry County, son of the late John and Maude Hemmings Mosley. Ardeen was a self-employed brick mason for 40 years and was a member and deacon of Dayspring Baptist Chapel in Dobson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anita Newman Mosley of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy Mosley, Kay and Mike Griffith, and Tammy and Terry Taylor, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kerri Mosley of Monroe; five grandchildren, Shauna Dean, Jennifer Hawks and her husband, Andy, and Cameron Taylor, all of Mount Airy, and Benjamin Mosley and Jacob Mosley, both of Monroe; a stepgrandson and his wife, Rondal and Cheryl Taylor of Advance; five great-grandchildren, Kaytlynn Dean, Logan Dean, Max Richardson, Kobi Hawks, and Maggie Richardson; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Ola Teague and Marcelene Ramsey, both of Winston-Salem, and Barbara and Norris Nixon of Mount Airy; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Donald and Teresa Mosley, Jack and Stacey Mosley, and Virginia Mosley, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mosley was preceded in death by a brother, Alpha Mosley. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Dayspring Baptist Chapel, with Brother Roger Pickett and the Rev. Wayburn Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
