James Walter Nester

Mr. James Walter Nester, age 70 of Ararat, VA, joined his loved ones gone on before him on Friday, December 10, 2010. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County, April 8, 1940 to Elvin and Lettie Collins Nester. He was a well known carpenter for many years and worked tirelessly for his loving family. Surviving are his devoted wife, Lois Thompson Nester of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Gary Sawyers and Leann and Travis Easter; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Mary Nester, Ronnie and Betty Nester and Don Nester all of Ararat; grandchildren, Tiffany Nester, Kayla Easter, Tyler Easter, Justin Sawyers, Adam Sawyers, Chris Mayes, Jeffrey Mayes and Tabitha Stanley; a great grandchild, Memphis Mayes; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lou and William Mitchell and Katherine and Mike Thorpe all of Mt. Airy and Patricia and Layton Lucas of York, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dillard and Janet Nester; Dwayne (Tom) and Jane Nester and Randy Nester all of Ararat and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nester was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Nester. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 13, 2010 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rickey Martin and Rev. Billy Stegall. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
