James Vernon Piedmont, Jr

Mr. James Vernon "Jimmy" Piedmont, Jr., 69, of Norfolk, VA, formerly of Richmond, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at his home. Mr. Piedmont was born March 6, 1940, in Alexandria, VA, to Cassie Hall Piedmont and the late James Vernon Piedmont. He was an antique collector and dealer. Mr. Piedmont is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Cindy Wilson of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, James Kyle Wilson and Amy Catherine Wilson, both of Mount Airy; his mother, Cassie Hall Piedmont of Mount Airy; two brothers, Robert Piedmont of Richmond, VA, and Eddie Piedmont of Cedar Bluff, VA; a sister-in-law, Carol Hess of Abingdon, VA; and two nieces, Shannon Farley of Abingdon, VA, and Betsy Campbell of Richmond, VA. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Mount Airy, by Dr. Roger B. Gilbert. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. The visitation and service will be conducted in the Fireside Room at First Baptist Church.
