Mr. James William “Bill” Pike, Jr. age 93, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his home in Charlotte surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Pike was born on December 19, 1930, in Buchanan, Virginia to the late James William Pike, Sr. and Nellie Mitchell Pike. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife, Betty Goins Pike, two daughters, Deborah Ladd, Dianne Barbour; one son, Mark Pike; three grandchildren, Brittany Ladd, Derek Ladd, Erika Whitworth and Ronnie; seven great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; two nieces, Sandy Atkins, Barbara Riley; and a nephew, Marty Lyons; several great nieces and nephews; a stepsister, Nancy Lyons; and a stepbrother, Charles Lyons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pike was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn Edward Pike and wife Glenda; a sister, Mary Jane Pike; and his stepmother, Pauline Lyons Pike. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Mr. Jim Holt and Mr. Tylar Jayne officiating. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Novant Health Hospice, P.O. Box 33549, Charlotte, North Carolina 28233-3549. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
