James Carl Pruitt

Mr. James Carl Pruitt, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, September 25, 2022, at Universal Health Care in King.  Mr. Pruitt was born January 27, 1939, in Stokes County, the older of two children born to the late Clyde Matthew and Lucy Hall Pruitt.  James retired as a superintendent from John S. Clark Company after 35 years of dedicated service and attended several Primitive Baptist churches in the Greater Mount Airy area.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Moseley Pruitt of the home; a daughter, Dana Pruitt of Pilot Mountain; a sister, Mildred Pruitt Wray of Mount Airy; a nephew, Tony Wray of Mount Airy; and his extended Moseley family.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Elder Gary Lowe, Elder Jimmy Joyce, and Elder Rodney Marshall officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Stewarts Creek Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Shannon Mosley, 198 Pepper Mill Lane, Mount Airy, NC  27030.
