Mr. James William "Jim" Roberson, 77, of Winston-Salem, died Monday, November 13, 2006, at his home. Mr. Roberson was born May 7, 1929, in Rutherford County, the son of the late Austin Thomas and Effie Roberson. Mr. Roberson was employed at Bocock-Stroud Company in Winston-Salem for many years and later was owner of Jersey City Sport Shop and Accent Screen Printing. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane Naylor Roberson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Jim Crossingham of Mount Airy, a son and daughter-in-law, David and Pattie Roberson of Winston-Salem; four grandsons, James Crossingham and Austin Crossingham, both of Mount Airy, and Wesley Roberson and Justin Roberson, both of Winston-Salem; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Austin and Elizabeth Roberson of Bostic and Fred and Maggie Roberson of Morganton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2006, at 11:00 AM at College Park Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, conducted by Mr. Roberson's niece, the Rev. Lynn Rhoades. On Sunday, November 19, 2006, a service will be held at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Crossnore, conducted by the Rev. Lander Heafner. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Avery County, 351 West Mitchell Street, Newland, NC 28657. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Roberson family.
