James Clarence Robertson

Rev. James Clarence (JC) Robertson, age 80, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home of Dobson.  He was born August 4, 1938, to the late Rufus and Daisy Marion Robertson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Robertson, two sisters, Hilda Bowman, Renda Shumate, one brother, Roger Robertson and one brother-in-law, Bruce Parks.   Surviving are his loving wife of  61 years, Shelby Jean Doss Robertson, of the home,  four sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Robertson of Mt. Airy, Eddie and Doris Robertson of Mt. Airy, Mitchell Robertson of Dobson, Hank and Donna Robertson of Mt. Airy,  and one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Michael Combs, of Lambsburg, Va., nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachel Parks, Rhonda and Larry Quesinberry, Teresa and Dean Southard, one sister-in-law, Linda Robertson, six brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Kathy Robertson, Curtis and Sherry Robertson, Bobby and Lisa Robertson, Charles Hembree, Dale Hembree,  and Dean Hembree, two brothers-in-law, James Shumate and Charles Bowman.  Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jack Anderson and Rev. Brad Quesinberry on February 22, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Moody–Davis Funeral home in Dobson, NC, with burial following at The Community Church Cemetery in Blackwater.  The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Moody-Davis in Dobson, NC.  The family would like to extend special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at Central Continuing Care of Mt. Airy, Mount Airy Dialysis Center, and Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
