James C. "Jim" Siceloff, Jr.

Mr. James C. “Jim” Siceloff, Jr., 76, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at Seasons at Southpoint in Durham, NC.  He was born May 18, 1942, in Surry County, NC, to the late James Conrad Siceloff and Eloise Sparger Siceloff.  Mr. Siceloff retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries in 1998, after more than 30 years.  He was the recipient of the prestigious President’s Award from Thomasville Furniture in 1987.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1966.  He was an extremely proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Class of 1964, BA in Political Science).  He was a basketball player for the Tarheels Freshman Team in 1960-1961.  He was also a graduate of North Carolina State University Furniture Manufacturing and Management Program (1968).  He was a member of the Mount Airy 1960 State Basketball Championship Team.  The team was inducted into the Greater Mount Airy Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.  In retirement, he enjoyed lots of golf, traveling, exercising, one-on-one time with friends, reading, listening to music, and, of course, Carolina Basketball.  He is survived by his friend, Rebecca Evans of Chapel Hill, NC; his cousin, Randall Sparger of Pfafftown, NC; and so many others who had the true privilege and honor of knowing Jim.  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy, NC.  A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time for the service at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC  27215; or The National Aphasia Association, P.O.
