Mr. James Thomas Snow, 96, of 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Snow was born November 30, 1913, in Surry County, to the late William Robert and Pearl Harbour Snow. He was the original owner and operator of the Mount Airy Paint Store and was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Nelson Snow of Mount Airy and Lanny Johnson Snow and Johnnie of Danville, VA; four grandchildren, Thomas Nelson Snow, Jr. of Charlotte, Shannon R. Snow of Raleigh, Susan Marie Snow of Danville, VA, and Kelly Renee Clark and her husband, Kenneth, of Dry Fork, VA; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bruce and Jewel Snow and Olan Snow, all of Dobson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Lee Johnson Snow; a daughter-in-law, Yoko Kawama Snow; and a brother, Robert Snow. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Mr. Kevin Pack officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
