James Morgan Snow, Jr

Mr. James Morgan Snow, Jr., 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his home. Mr. Snow was born August 24, 1927, in Carroll County, VA, to the late James Morgan Snow, Sr. and Florie Payne Snow. He was retired from Spencer's Inc., a member of the Mount Airy Lions Club, and a member of the Traveler's Protection Association. Mr. Snow was a member of Grace Moravian Church and the retired fire chief of Bannertown Fire Department. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Frye Snow of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Phil Poteat and Pam and Joey Mitchell, all of Mount Airy, Sue and Jim McLean of Conover, and Anne and Gary Moser of Pinnacle; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eddie Snow of Pilot Mountain and Chris and Jacinda Snow of Cary; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Okey Sheets of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by a grandson, Jerrald Mitchell; and a stepmother, Flossie Jewel Snow. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dewayne Sands and the Rev. David Heath. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
