James William Thore

Mr. James William Thore, 60, of Collins Farm Road, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at his home. Mr. Thore was born June 16, 1949, in Patrick County, VA, to Percy Batten and Eunice Barbara Nunn Thore. Jimmy was a self-employed mechanic. He is survived by his parents, Percy Batten and Eunice Barbara Nunn Thore of Mount Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Robin and Roger Portis and Renee and Marvin Byrd, all of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews, Pandy Payne, Devon Byrd, Austin Byrd, Daisy Byrd, and Rebecca Portis; and a special friend, Patricia "Dianne" Snow Hodges of Mount Airy. Mr. Thore was preceded in death by a niece, Amanda Hill. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Percy Batten and Eunice Barbara Nunn Thore, 1079 Collins Farm Road, Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted.
