James Wendell "Wendy" Watson

Mr. James Wendell “Wendy” Watson, age 87, of Mount Airy passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  He was born in Surry County on June 27, 1936, to the late James William Watson and the late Alma Williams Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Stanley, brothers, Clinton Watson, Alan Watson, Billy Jack Watson, Mike Watson.  He was the Owner of Watson Freedom Hair, in Dobson, NC.  He was a member of New Home Church of Christ.  Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Von Watson McCoy and her husband Aaron; son and daughter-in-law, Greg Watson and his wife Phyllis; grandchildren, Sidney Watson and his wife Breanne, Stephanie McCoy Wood and her husband Janson; great-grandson, Parker Watson; sister, Eleanor Edmonds, brother, Johnny Watson; several nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2023.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Rev. Cory Honeycutt will officiate the service.
