JAMES HARVEY WILSON, JR.

James Harvey Wilson, Jr. was born March 16, 1927 in Florence, SC to James Harvey Wilson Sr and Martha Jane Gamble Wilson . He passed away January 7, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem NC after a brief illness.


Harvey is survived by his wife, Betty Wilson; brother Burgess Wilson (Doris) of Sumter, SC, his children Nelie Wilson Griffin and her fiance, Edwin Walker, of Winston-Salem, NC , Irma Wilson Comer (John) of Kernersville NC , James Harvey Wilson, III of Belews Creek, NC; step children Len Simpson, Deborah Hayes, Pam Williams (Norman) all of Meadows of Dan; 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by an infant son, David Gamble Wilson, daughter, Jane Wilson Spano, and step son Mike Simpson.



Harvey , a Sumter, SC native, has lived in Meadows of Dan, Va with his wife Betty, since 1991. He was a long time employee of Motorola, having retired in 1981. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, as well as an extremely accomplished and recognized businessman. Those who really knew Harvey understood that his heart was as big as the mountain he lived on. His memorial will be held at Moody's Funeral Services in Stuart, VA at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
