James Mitchell "Mitch" Younger

James Mitchell “Mitch” Younger, 60, born November 18, 1961, to James “Jim” R Younger and Janice L Younger entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. The Good Lord greeted him with a hug as his dogs ran up to him with their tails wagging.  He is survived by his parents, James “Jim” R Younger and Janice L Younger of Mount Airy, NC.  His children, James C Younger of Charlotte, NC and Natalie M Younger of Mount Airy, NC.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister Kenneth D and Melanie Y Winfree of Kernersville, NC; nieces and nephews, Mathew R & Jessica S Scott of Dobson, NC; Leah R and Anah Y Winfree of Kernersville, NC and a host of beloved family and friends too numerous to name.  Mitch served from 1980 to 1984 in The United States Navy; it was the honor of his life to serve the United States of America.  He worked his way from a baggage handler to one of the most talented avionics mechanics at American Airlines.  He flew around the world teaching other mechanics how to repair and maintained a fleet of aircraft with a single purpose in mind, keep people safe.  Fishing was a lifelong passion, he loved spending time on the New River, it’s where he found peace and quiet time with God.  An evening viewing will be held on Friday, July 15 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 11:00 am in Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating, and full military honors conducted by VFW Post 2019 of Mt.
