Janet Leigh Lyons

Ms. Janet Leigh Lyons, 59, of Cana passed away Friday April 21, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born on September 13, 1957 to the late Velpo Lloyd and Ruth Marie Jones Lyons. Janet was a caring mother and grandmother, always showing kindness to others as she greeted them with her smile. She was employed with Wal-Mart and attended Faith Baptist and New Beginnings Church. Janet also enjoyed attending New Beginnings. Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amy Hawks; her three adored grandchildren, Jacob Hawks, Trinity Hawks and Amber Hawks; her sister, and best friend, Patty Lyons; nieces and a nephew; aunts and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wes Mosteller and Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Monday, April 24, 2017.
