Janice Darlene Handy

Mrs. Janice Darlene Handy, age 72, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday evening, April 17, 2025, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy. Mrs. Handy was born in Surry County on August 8, 1952, to the late Preston Chappell and Jettie Arnder Chappell. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Handy worked many years at Walmart, were she had retired . Surviving Mrs. Handy is her daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Davis and John, Ann Handy; grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Ocean Davis, Harley Davis, Jasmine Davis, Zach Golding, Alexandra Palacious, Shyanne Golding; brothers and sister-in-law, Jay Hutchins and Linda, Don Hutchins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Handy was preceded in death by her sister, Denise Hutchins. Per Mrs. Handys’ request, there will not be any formal services held at this time. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Handy family.
