Janice Marie Malund

Mrs. Janice Marie Stoneman Malund, 68, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2020, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Malund was born February 17, 1952, in Grayson County, VA, the daughter of the late James Eldon and Berda Mae Nichols Stoneman.  Janice was a homemaker and a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church.  She is survived by her husband, Erik S. Malund of the home; a son, Mark Richard Malund of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Alexis Malund and Mariah Malund; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Barbara Stoneman of Matthews; and her canine companions, Terri, Dandy, and Rusty.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Malund was preceded in death by a son, Brian Malund.  Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a service of worship and celebration of Janice’s life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dry Pond Cemetery in Allisonia, VA.  No formal visitation will be held; however, family and friends may pay their respects at Faith Baptist Church on Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.  Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family asks that attendees wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support the food pantry at Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 37, Toast, NC  27049.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
