Mrs. Janice Faye Inman Nichols, age 83 of Rural Hall, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Brookridge Retirement Community in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Nichols was born on July 23, 1940, in Surry County to the late John Brady and Tracie Hiatt Inman. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church. She attended Stanleyville Baptist Church while her health allowed. Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Mark Nichols, Scott Nichols and wife Alice; three grandchildren, Courtney Nichols Jansen and husband Stephen, Logan Nichols, Tyler Nichols; two great-grandchildren, Porter Jansen, Hadley Jansen; a special nephew, Dennis Dawson, along with many other nieces and nephews; and her neighbor, Brian King. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Raeburn Nichols; four sisters, Irene Inman Chilton, Etta Inman Chilton, Lois Inman Stone, Doris Inman Dawson; and three brothers, J. B. Inman, Taylor Inman, Doug Inman. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Simmons Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Jacob Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Simmons Grove Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
