Janice Parker Hooker

Mrs. Janice Alene Watson Parker Hooker, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away at her home on Thursday night, November 4, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on September 29, 1943, to the late Ernest Jiles Watson and Mecie Alice Atkins Watson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of seven years, Stewart Hooker; daughters and sons-in-law, Kem and Tommy Jessup, Tina and Terry Joyce, and Selena and Davey Jefferson; sons and a daughter-in-law, Brad Allen and Melanie, Jason and Jill Parker; stepsons, Ronald and Lisa Hooker, and Phillip and Deana Hooker; 14 grandchildren and a special granddaughter and caregiver, Tiffany Hiatt; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Jessie Watson, Dean and Debbie Watson, and Sammy Watson and Kathy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooker was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Edward Parker; and four brothers, A. G., Aubrey, Hilmer, and Wray Watson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 7th, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kevin Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in the Watson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
