Janice Louise White

Miss Janice Louise White, 63, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the home of her brother, following a short illness. Miss White was of the Baptist faith. Before becoming disabled years ago, Ms. White was a CNA at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Having never been married, she enjoyed the companionship of her family and friends. Miss White was born September 9, 1945, in Surry County, to the late Tommie and Beatrice Marion White. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Ray White. She is survived by her brother, Donald Gray White; a special friend and caregiver, Peggy Melton; a nephew, Chad White and friend, Rebecca Branson; a niece, Angela White Goad and her husband, Wiley Goad; three great nephews, Dustin, Levi, and Brandon Goad; and a great niece, Brittany White; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church in Dobson, conducted by the Rev. Barbara Adams. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 7, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
