Janice Faye (Branson) Woods

Mrs. Janice Faye Branson Woods, age 75 of Cana, Virginia passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Woods was born in Surry County to the late George Washington Branson, Sr. and Lois Robertine Hypes Branson. Janice loved life and was unwavering in her faith. She was known for her servant’s heart and unconditional love. Everyone who knew her spoke of how she radiated the love of Christ. To know her was to love her. She will be deeply missed by all. Surviving are her daughters and special son-in-law, Patricia Woods Shumate and Troy, Donna Woods; four grandchildren, Tanner Woods, Clay Shumate and Rebecca Miller, Emily Woods, Natalie Shumate; great-grandchildren, Karter Harrison, Kamryn Jayda Haynes, Elias Jones; family by heart, Gary and Susan Humphries, Angel, Sharon, Suzanne, and Jodi Haynes, Traci George; four sisters and brother-in-law, Patsy Branson Robertson, Mildred Branson Handy, Edith Branson King and Leroy, and Linda Branson Chandler; and brother, George Branson, Jr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin McArthur Woods; and two brothers, Larry Branson, and Eddy Arnold Branson. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cana, Virginia with Reverend Joe Pyles, Reverend Emmett Crotts, and Albert Everidge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.
