Janice May York

Janice May York, age 55, of Lambsburg, VA, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was born in Surry County on October 24, 1961 to Charles L. York, Sr. and Hazel Hawks York. Janice will forever be remembered for her sweet smile, her sense of humor and her strong will. She will be dearly missed by all her loving family and many, many friends. Among those who will always cherish her memory are sisters and a brother-in-law, Ramona York and Jack Ball; Judy Kay York and Jenny Fay York; a niece, Ida Belle Jones and husband, Ryan; a nephew, Jason McBride; great nephews and great nieces, Glendon Lacy, Aubree Marie, Cassidy, and Isaac. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Charles L. York, Jr.; and a niece, Christy Lynn York. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Blue Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Donald Bryant, Rev. David Allred and Rev. Woody Flippen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00.
