Jason Matthew Powers

Mr. Jason Matthew Powers, 26, of Thomasville, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem due to complications from a house fire. Mr. Powers was born June 27, 1984, in Bennettsville, SC, the son of Charles Henry Powers and the late Kathy Ann Tyndall Powers. He is survived by his fiancée, Amanda Lynn Evans of the home; three daughters, Kayla Evans, Abigial Powers, and Ashley Powers, all of the home; two sons, Jason "J.J." Powers, Jr. and Christopher Dereck Powers, both of the home; his father, Charles Henry Powers of Wallace, SC; a sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and David Jarrell of High Point; and three brothers, Michael Calloway of High Point, Joseph Powers of Bennettsville, SC, and "C.J." Powers of High Point. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Noel Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time to depart to the cemetery for the service. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Surrey Bank and Trust for "The Jason Powers Memorial Fund," P.O. Box 1227, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Donations will also be accepted at any branch of Surrey Bank and Trust.
