Jasper Montgomery Bunker

Mr. Jasper Montgomery Bunker, 86, of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday October 29, 2022, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Surry County on January 11, 1936, to the late Stephen “Dock” Bunker and Rosa Delia Scott Bunker.  He was the owner and operator of Independent Sewing in Mount Airy for many years.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Jane Cave Bunker of the home; a son, Stephen Bunker; two daughters, Bardee Crappel and Kristy Evans; seven grandchildren; and many other family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bunker was preceded in death by his two brothers, James “Jimmy” Bunker and Scott Bunker.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the graveside at Westside Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday October 31, 2022, at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Bunker family.
