Jay Alan Mason

Mr. Jay Alan Mason, 51, of 301 Taylor Street, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 18, 2012, at his home. Mr. Mason was born January 7, 1961, in Kent County, RI, one of six children born to Herbert Alan and Mae Adkins Mason. Jay worked as "the boss" for many years with Hiatt and Mason Enterprises Inc. and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by a son, Joshua Alan Davis of Mount Airy; his parents, Herbert Alan and Mae Adkins Mason of Mount Airy; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Felix Hebert of Coventry, RI, and Michelle and Dr. David Jackson and Robin and Bobby Fitzgibbons, all of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joey and Marisa Mason of Mount Airy and Adam and Brenda Mason of Sterling, VA; several nieces and nephews; and his special companion, Laura Orndorff of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 22, 2012, at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop Ray Riska presiding. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
