Jay Washington Noonkester

Mr. Jay Washington Noonkester, age 82, of Ararat, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital. Mr. Noonkester was born November 3, 1938, in Ararat VA, to the late George and Bertha Noonkester. Surviving is his wife, Debra “Debbe” Noonkester, two sons and daughters in law; David and Debra Noonkester, Barry and Donna Noonkester; adopted son Wayne Dozier, grandchildren; Johnathan, Jamie and wife Angie, Christopher and wife Ashley and Brittany Noonkester. Great-grandchildren; Brandon, Jamie Lee, Tyler, Kyler, Gracie, Arabella, Cheyenne and Jordan Noonkester, and two step-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law; Michael and Margaret Noonkester, and Dwight and Alice Noonkester. In addition to his parents, Mr. Noonkester was preceded in death by three half-brothers; Dallas, Hassel, and Paige Noonkester, and a half-sister, Iva Hill. Mr. Noonkester was well known for his passion of trucking and farming on the family orchard with his loving wife by his side. He loved his peaches, apples, blackberries, and blueberries. A service of worship and celebration of life will be held at Mountain View Pentecostal on November 23, 2021 at 2:00, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Moody’s of Mount Airy is serving the Noonkester family.
