Jeanne Bowman Collins

Ms. Jeanne Bowman Collins, 65, of 228 Fireside Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at her home. Ms. Collins was born November 28, 1940, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Clayton Bowman and Ossie Irene Edwards Bowman Stoneman. She owned and operated Country Ruffles in Mount Airy for several years and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia and Steve Jenkins of Mount Airy, Cathy Collins of Winston-Salem, and Teresa Collins of Elkin; a stepson, Duke Collins, Jr. of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Euna and Doug Sexton of Goodyear, AZ; and three half-sisters and a spouse, Debbie Gwyn, Joyce Towe, and Patty and Mike Hull, all of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Ms. Collins was preceded in death by two sons, Randall Duke Collins and Christopher K. Collins; and a grandson, Jason N. Jenkins. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 17, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Ron Hall, and burial will follow in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
