Mrs. Jeanne Marie Fleischmann Currier, 93 of Mount Airy, NC, widow of V. T. “Johnny” Currier, passed away Thursday morning, March 15, 2018 at Piedmont Crossing Retirement in Thomasville, NC. Mrs. Currier was born on January 13, 1925 in Richmond County, VA to the late Augustus Wilson Fleischmann and Elizabeth Hayes Fleischmann. Mrs. Currier was retired from Blue Ridge Elementary School in Patrick County, VA, where she was a fourth-grade teacher who had made an everlasting impression in all of the children’s lives. Mrs. Currier was also a member of Grace Moravian Church in Mount Airy. Left to cherish her wonderful memory are two daughters and sons-in-law, Vivien Currier Windley and husband Hank of Henderson, NC, and Beth Currier Nicholson and husband Garrel of Thomasville, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Lee Currier and wife Laura of Cookeville, TN; four grandchildren, Erin Currier, Chris Nicholson and wife Laura, Kelly Nicholson, Claire Rhodes and husband Michael, and Clif Adams; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Currier was preceded in death by a grandson, Blake Ashton Currier, a granddaughter, Joyce Windley Adams; and a sister, Elizabeth Patrick. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, March 19, 2018 at 11:00am at Grace Moravian Church in Mount Airy with Rev. Neil Routh officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Currier’s family would like to give a huge Thank You to the doctors and staff of Piedmont Crossing Retirement for all of the loving care and support to not only Mrs. Currier but to all of the family during her stay.
