Jeffery Payne Johnson

Mr. Jeffery Payne Johnson, 52, a beloved father, brother, and friend, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. A native of Surry County, Mr. Johnson was born April 18, 1958. He was the owner and operator of J and J Chimney and Deck Service. He is survived by a daughter, Crystal Johnson of Mount Airy; a son, Jeffery Paul Johnson of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Kevin Hall of Mount Airy; and a brother, Timmy Johnson of Mount Airy. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Payne Johnson; and his maternal grandparents, Cephus and Ruby Payne. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 27, 2011, at 3:00 PM at Community Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Sewell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help defray the costs of the funeral expenses.
