Jeffrey Mark Smith, Jr

Jeffrey “Mark” Smith, Jr., 36, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mark was born Sept. 20, 1984, in Whiteville, NC. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Gloria Smith, his maternal grandparents L.N. “Sonny” Ward and Elizabeth Matthews; 2 aunts, and 2 cousins. Mark, a prideful Carolina boy, loved wrestling, playing games with his son, Jake, and most of all: being a good, loving father and son. He adored his community and grew family everywhere he went. He is survived by his father, Jeff Smith, Sr. (Carla), and mother, Margaret Hinson (Buddy), son, Edward Jacob Smith of the home, brother, Brian Hinson, sister, Elizabeth “Beth” McDaniel (Jason), half-sisters, Amanda Martin (Jason), Jennifer Byrum (Keith) and Autumn Northern, stepbrothers, Matthew “Brandon” Marion (Erin), Michael Tolbert (Vicky), partner Brittany Boggs of the home, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Smith family.
