Jerry Andrew Adams

Mr. Jerry Andrew Adams, 64, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Adams was born October 14, 1951, in Surry County, the son of the late Daniel Kenneth and Betty Snow Adams. Jerry was an adjuster with Nationwide Insurance Company for 23 years. He was a member of Westfield Baptist Church, where he served as an assistant superintendent of Sunday school. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Donna Collins Adams of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Rona and Ian Hawks and Stacy and Monte Burns, all of Mount Airy; his grandchildren, Emma Hawks and Nathaniel Hawks, both of Mount Airy; his mother in law, Barbara Edmiston and her husband, Jim, of Mount Airy; his father-in-law, Don Collins of Pilot Mountain; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darius and Barbara Collins of Pilot Mountain; his nieces, Angie Luther and her husband, Gary, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Maggie Collins and Katie Collins, both of Pilot Mountain; his great nephews, Justin Underwood and his wife, Jessica, of Winston-Salem and Jeremey Underwood and his wife, Ashley, of Thomasville; his great great nephew, Harrison Underwood of Winston-Salem; and his aunts, June Brannock and her husband, Don, of Westfield and Mary Wilson of El Paso, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny B. Adams; and a special uncle, Herley Gammons. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Westfield Baptist Church, with Dr. Joel Stephens, Brother Don Collins, and Brother D.C. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. William Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Westfield Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westfield Baptist Church Building Fund, 6713 Westfield Road, Westfield, NC 27053. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Adams family.
