Jerry Dean Bullis

Mr. Jerry Dean Bullis, 38, of 292 Maple Ridge Lane, Ararat, VA, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007, at his home. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Bullis was born March 6, 1969. He was the owner and operator of Bullis Logging Company in Ararat, VA. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Amanda Brindle of Mount Airy; two stepgrandchildren; his parents, Melvin Ernest and Linda Lane Bullis of Roaring River; a sister, Tammy Renee Bullis of Cana, VA; two brothers, Billy James Lane of Ararat, VA, and Bobby June Lane of Taylorsville; a brother-in-law, Sanford Junior Bullis of Hays; five nieces; two nephews; and a host of special friends, Annette Sawyers, Little Red, David Hamm, Sandie Hensley, Elbert King, Gary Nester, and Big Guy. Mr. Bullis was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Jean Lane Pack; and a niece, Regina Lynn Lane. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 18, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Odell White. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
