Jerry Richard Gaylor

Mr. Jerry Richard Gaylor, 69, of Ararat, VA, formerly of Rome, GA, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, Wednesday, June 8, 2022.  He was born in Vidalia, GA, March 22, 1953, to the late Ralph Gaylor and Frances Holcombe Myers.  Mr. Gaylor was an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed gardening and golf when he was younger but continued to hike on many trails in numerous states, as long as his health permitted.  Mr. Gaylor loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and her fiancé, Rebecca Moles and Kelly Bartley; grandchildren, Chase Morris and Dylan Morris; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Peggy Gaylor; a special family friend, Manie Beketov and Tamothy Shoaf; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is also survived by several step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gaylor was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Gaylor; his infant son Jerry Richard “Ricky” Gaylor, Jr.; the mother of his children Sharon Sue Moon; brothers Tony, Kenny, and Andy Gaylor.  The family is planning a private memorial service.  Online condolences  may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
