Jerry Alton "Buddy" Manuel, Jr.

Mr. Jerry Alton “Buddy” Manuel, Jr., 61, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mr. Manuel was born in Orange County on January 29, 1961, to the late Jerry Alton Manuel, Sr. and Delores Ann Smith Manuel.  He was employed at American Healthcare, and a member of Doe Run Baptist Church.  Mr. Manuel proudly served our country in the United States Marines.  He is survived by sons, Steven Andrew Manuel, and Bryan Scott Manuel; a sister and brother-in-law, Pam and David Crowson; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Tim Lawson.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Manuel was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Michelle Hall; his grandparents, Opal and Clady Manuel, and Charles and Thelma Smith.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Vaughn officiating, and military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.  The family will receive friends Sunday, January 1, 2023, from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
