Jerry Alton Manuel, Sr

Mr. Jerry Alton Manuel, Sr., age 72 of 59 Pear Tree Lane, Ararat, VA, husband of Ann Manuel, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Manuel was born in Guilford County, March 15, 1934 to Clady and Opal Grady Manuel. Mr. Manuel had served in the US Air Force. He was retired from the Mt. Airy office of the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. He was a member of Fellowship Church in Ararat, VA where he was a Sunday School Teacher. Surviving are his wife, Ann Smith Manuel of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and David Crowson of Pilot Mountain; Wanda and Bobby Hall of Salt Rock, WV; a son, Jerry Alton Manuel, Jr. of Mt. Airy, 9 grandchildren, Cody, Joshua and Elizabeth Hall all of Salt Rock, W. VA, Scott Manuel and Steven Manuel both of Mt. Airy, NC, Jordan, Nathan, Luke and Rebekah Crowson all of Pilot Mountain, NC, two sisters, Rachel Cristman, Greensboro, NC, and Sarah Manuel, Gibsonville, NC and a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Ruth Manuel, Greensboro, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Garland Hall. Burial will follow in the-Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM Friday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home and other times at Mr. Manuel's Home., 59 Pear Tree Lane, Ararat, VA.
