Mr. Jesse Columbus Holder, 58, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011. Mr. Holder was born November 11, 1952, in Surry County, to Jesse Roy and Elizabeth Mayes Holder. He was a loving husband, "the best" father, and a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his family and many, many friends He was a longtime member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Mr. Holder owned and operated Super Shine Detail. Surviving are his wife, Helen Brown Holder of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Noel Easter of Mount Airy and Tanya and Josh Forest of Mountain Park; grandchildren, Scotty Easter and his wife, Kacey, Jake Easter, Hannah Williams, Katelyn Williams, and Addie Forest; great-grandchildren, Landon Easter and Kloey Easter; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Reggie Llewellyn of Mount Airy and Betty Lou McCann of Lexington; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Billy Jack and Anna Mae Holder of Mount Airy and Edward Holder of Dobson; and a very special sister-in-law, Frances Holder of Dobson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holder was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Nathan Holder; and a brother, Robert Holder. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, with Pastor Jonathan Barker and Preacher Jake Easter officiating. Mr. Holder will lie-in-state 30 minutes at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
