Jesse Worrell McMillian

Mr. Jesse Worrell McMillian, 95 of Dobson, passed away at his home, Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 19, 1926, to the late Jesse and Savadar McMillian McMillian. Mr. McMillian proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II where he was decorated for his service. Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Left to cherish is memories are his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Yvonne McMillian; grandchildren and spouse, Casey McMillan and Joe, and Luke McMillian; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. McMillian was preceded in death by his wife, Garnell Sutphin McMillian, a son, Marcus Worrell McMillian, a granddaughter, Rebecca McMillian; one sister, Margaret Helen McMillian Pearson; and two brothers, James McMillian and Colvard McMillian. A private funeral service will be held. Mr. McMillian will lie-in-state on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
