Mr. Jesse James Thomas age 60 of 312 Wood Creek Drive., Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Betty Lane Thomas passed away Saturday afternoon, January 20, 2007 at his home. He was born July 28, 1946 in Patrick County, VA to the late Jacob Hoon and Gladys Pack Thomas. He was retired from Sara Lee Corporation and was a member of The Community Church. Survivors are his wife, Betty Lane Thomas of the home, a step-daughter and husband, Sherry Lynn and Charles Ayers, Mt. Airy, NC, five step-sons and wives, Daniel and Sandra Knott, Ararat, VA, Randy and Sheila Knott, Ricky Knott, Timothy Knott of the home and Andrew Knott of the home, 9 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, two sisters, Nancy Reeves, and Rader Flynn both of King, NC, four nieces and two nephews. In addition to Mr. Thomas's parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eva McHone. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at The Community Church conducted by Rev. James Quesenberry, Rev. Charles Stevens, Bro. Don Collins and Rev. Ray Hutson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
