Mr. Jesse Odell Tucker, 69, of 112 Arlington Street, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born November 2, 1939, in Surry County, to the late Walter and Alice Hayes Tucker. He was retired from T&T Home Improvements. Mr. Tucker loved racing and was a member of Welcome View Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Shelby East Tucker of the home; a daughter, Debbie Forkel of King; a son and daughter-in-law, Noel and Velvet B. Tucker of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren, Dustin Forkel and Devin Forkel, both of King, Kendal Tucker and Karsyn Tucker, both of Pilot Mountain; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carolyn Leatherman and Pat and Sam Cockerham, all of Yadkinville; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Louise Tucker and Wade and Elizabeth Tucker, all of Dobson, Peggy Tucker of State Road, and Norma Tucker of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Bill Tucker and J.W. Tucker. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
