Jessie Ruth Angel

Miss Jessie Ruth Angel, 98, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, July 19, 2021, at Trinity Elms Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clemmons. Miss Angel was born May 12, 1923, in Surry County, one of five children born to the late Isaac Albert and Lillie Mae Hawks Angel. Jessie retired as a teller from Bank of America after many years of service. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Melissa Angel Willard of Clemmons, Jason Thomas Willard and his wife, Ronna, of Rural Retreat, VA, and Linda Angel Smith and Carrie Mae Angel, both of Mount Airy; and a dear friend, Amber Wagoner. In addition to her parents, Miss Angel was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Angel Willard; three brothers, Lester Angel, Chester Angel, and Andrew Angel; and a nephew, Jimmy Angel. A service of worship and celebration of Jessie’s life will be held Monday, July 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
