Jessie Pruett Jones

Mrs. Jessie Pruett Jones, 80, of 335 Taylor Street, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Jones was born May 6, 1927, in Surry County, to the late George Edward and Eunice Westmoreland Pruett. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Grace Moravian Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Karl "Reggie" and Jacqueline P. McGee of Macon, NC; six grandchildren, Karl "Reggie" McGee, Jr., Erin Rachael Little, Corey Alan McGee, David Richardson, Ned Richardson, and Justin McGee; two great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Gary and Marianne Pruett and Clara Pruett Wolfe, all of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dalmer and Imogene Stewart of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reid Jones; a daughter, Delores Richardson; a son, Michael R. McGee; two sisters, Edith Pruett McHone and Margaret Pruett McHone; and a brother, George Edward Pruett, Jr. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Grace Moravian Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jeff Coppage and Dr. Craig Edwards. Burial will follow at God's Acre. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
