Jettie White

Mrs. Jettie Phillips White, age 88, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the Yadkin Nursing Care Center. She was born June 2, 1931, in Surry County to the late Opal Agnes Anthony Phillips and the late Vernie Alvin Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rufus James White; her sister, Mary Lee White, and her son-in-law, Rick Shores. Mrs. White was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a retired CNA at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her children, Libby (Jimmy) Hamlin of Dobson, Pat Shores of Thurmond, R.J. (Robin) White of Dobson, Terry (Beth) White of Dobson; grandchildren, Tricia (Craig) Gambill, Lori (Jason) Cogdill, Brad (Tara Caudill) White, Cameron (Matt) Cockerham, Suzanne (Jeff) Borandi, Allison W. Williams, Brooke (Jeremy) Branch, and Blake (Kristen) White; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Hampton Cogdill, Bella, Salem and Shepherd Branch, Reid Cockerham, Luke Williams and Remi White. Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2019, from 12-2 PM at Fairview Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Billy Nale, Pastor Cory Honeycutt and Jason Cogdill officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of Yadkin Nursing Care Center and the ICU Pulmonary Critical Care Unit at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
