Mrs. Jim Elizabeth Miller Henry, 94, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Henry was born September 19, 1915, in Greenville, TX, the daughter of the late John Henry and Jim Florene Gober Miller. She was a homemaker, golfer, poet, traveler, and a volunteer. Jim spent her life reaching out to others with cards, gifts, flowers, and phone calls. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Mrs. Henry was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Liza and Jerry Southern of Mount Airy and Robyn and Kim Smith of Pinehurst; a son and daughter-in-law, Kilbourne Adams "Skip" Henry, Jr. and Diane Henry of Wingate; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-step-grandchildren; two great-great-step-grandchildren; a special niece, Carolyn Gilbert; and three special nephews, Louis Beasley, John Roeder, and George Roeder. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband, Kilbourne Adams "Kibby" Henry, Sr.; and two sisters, Mary Beasley and Helen Roeder. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Terry Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her treasured caretakers, including Dawn Southern, a grand step-niece, Pat Faries, Jean Gordy, Sue Wagner, and Felicia Thompson.
