Jim Gray Stanley

Mr. Jim Gray Stanley, 85, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Stanley was born in Surry County, December 24, 1925 to Thaddeus Eugene and Mary Lee Coe Stanley. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his dear family and many friends. Surviving is his wife of nearly sixty-six years, Faye Venable Stanley of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Racene and Mark Shore of Pfafftown; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Nora Stanley of Kernersville; grandchildren, Lucas, Annah, April, Carson, Valerie, Brent, Cindy and Renea Shore and Raven and Ryan Stanley; sisters, Mary Nell Cole of Mt. Airy and Kay Smith of Lewisville and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill T. and Peggy Stanley of Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by a twin brother, John R. Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy by Rev. Mark Shore and Dr. Bobby Lewis. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
