Jimmie Clayton Combs Jr.

Mr. Jimmie Clayton Combs Jr., age 72, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at The Greens at Spruce Pine in Spruce Pine NC. He was born November 20, 1951, in Surry County, to the late Jimmie Clayton Combs Sr. and the late Ruth Ellen Garris Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Freddie Combs.

            Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Peggy Stanley Combs; his daughter, Angel Combs Woolard; his stepson, Chris Cockerham; his grandchildren, Bynum Walston, Garrison Walston, Lindy Grace Walston, Maecy Jewel Woolard, Conner Cockerham, Bella Cockerham, and Eli Cockerham; his great grandchildren, Ellie Walston and Ivey Walston; and his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy Combs Money and Buck; and his niece, Micha Lineberry.

            Mr. Combs was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who proudly served his country for 25 years in the United States Army, loved hunting, fishing and the beach, and enjoyed working at Mark’s Guns and Ammo. Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A celebration of Mr. Combs life will begin at 2:00 PM, in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Dr. Billy Nale and  Scott Meadows officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Combs family.
