Jimmie Ray Long

Mr. Jimmie Ray Long, age 74, of King, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home.  He was born in Surry County on March 9, 1946 to the late Delbert Howard and Addie Dalton Long.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Della Hamby Long; daughter and son-in-law, Elvira and Michael Wood; son, Rickie Long; grandchildren, Cory Wood, Brianna Long, Joey Long, Courtnie Chamberlain; sister and brother-in-law, Ellie and Tommy Corns; brother and sisters-in-law, Terry and Donna Long,Karen Long.  In addition to his parents Mr. Long was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Joe Long, sisters, Peggy Long, Doris Young and Bonnie Bottoms.  A funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Bannertown Baptist Church in Germanton with services conducted by Rev. Paul Sisk and Rev. Don Charles.  Burial will follow in the Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church in Pinnacle.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until time for the service at the church.
