Jimmie Albert Parrish

       Mr. Jimmie Albert Parrish, age 82 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center.  He was born on October 11, 1936, to the late Clyde Barnett Parrish, Sr. and Emily Pruitt Parrish.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Parrish and C. Junior Parrish; sisters, Margie Gammons and Faye Fain; and a son-in-law, Sidney A. “Junior” Jones, Jr.  Jimmie was a kind man, who never met a stranger.  He worked at J.P. Stevens Textiles until he retired and then spent many of his days bagging groceries and helping out at Lowes Foods.  He enjoyed working outside and playing his harmonica.  He loved going to church and was a faithful servant to the Lord for many years.    

       Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice Geraldine Spencer Parrish of Stuart; one daughter, Wanda Parrish Jones of Stuart; two grandchildren, Stacy Jones Foley and Tony Jones, both of Stuart; four great-grandchildren, Milli, Avery, Adilynn, and Hadley; one sister-in-law, Josephine Parrish of Mount Airy, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

       Funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Ricky Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow in Stuart Church of Christ Cemetery at Dry Pond.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
