Jimmy Dale Johnson

Mr. Jimmy Dale Johnson, 65, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on March 28, 1950 to Wanda Mathews Johnson Hall and the late Clyde Johnson. Mr. Johnson was retired from Dow Chemical Company. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Linda Beasley Johnson of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Jason Edwards, Jamie and Gray Stevens all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Evalee Edwards, and Krysten Stevens; his mother, Wanda Mathews Johnson Hall of Pilot Mountain; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Jack Crump, Brenda and Tommy Lowe all of Pilot Mountain; a brother, Michael Hall of Jonesville; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Shane Johnson; his step-father, Gaston Hall. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
