Jimmy Hiatt

Mr. Jimmy Lewis Hiatt, 76, of Cana, VA, passed away at Northern Regional Hospital, Sunday, April 25, 2021 due to complications to Covid-19.  He was born in Surry County, NC, May 1, 1944 to the late Arnold Marion and Ella Mae Hicks Hiatt.  He was a faithful member of Flat Ridge Baptist Church and retired as a farmer and landscaper.  Mr. Hiatt loved to farm and after retiring, he agreed to teach his sister-in-law, Nancy how to drive a tractor and plant a garden.  They became gardening buddies with strong sense of humor, playing jokes on each other from time to time especially at Christmas with anonymous gifts.  Mr. Hiatt loved the mountains and enjoyed many trips to Pigeon Forge with his wife Carol.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol Easter Hiatt; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Denise and Mike Westendorf; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Brian and Holly Busick; step-grandchildren, Katie Westendorf, Courtney Busick, and Clay Busick; a sister Mary Faye Hiatt; and several special nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by a step grandchild McKenzie Busick; and brothers, Marion, Frank, Melvin, and Johnny Hiatt.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 30, 2021, at Flat Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Oscar Hill officiating.  Mr. Hiatt will lie-in-state at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
